As we, thankfully, move into the next stage, some reflection on the past 10 weeks…
1. While it was once considered rude to cross the street when somebody was approaching me, it’s now considered uber offensive if I don’t
2. Who knew that so many people have bookcases – and how they have become less messy, more cerebral and better colour coordinated as the lockdown has progressed
3. Given that most TV interviews are pre-planned, there are some messy kitchens… very messy… really messy…
4. Not sure who I’m looking forward to seeing more, my sister or my hairdresser
5. During our daily exercise, my husband has a new game – he is determined to make people we pass say ‘hello’ to him…he is just about winning although some people look terrified as they do
6. As the lockdown has progressed and with more time on our hands, the art of mansplaining has increased! I remain baffled around why you should ‘measure twice and cut once’… who cares?
7. Most soaps are now far-fetched and total fantasy… all this socialising in a local pub – absolutely ridiculous!
8. Zoom has confirmed that I am not the girl I once was – the eye bags are the least of my worries now I’ve seen my neck in action
9. My iPhone face recognition is beginning to fail more and more
10. Whilst I am reasonably pleased with my 4 x weekly attempts to run 5K, my breathing could be a voice-over for Normal People
11. It is an absolute chore unsubscribing from all the sites I have been forced to buy goods online from – they are trying to make me a keeper but I will fight them!
12. The euphoria of finding an out of date jar in the cupboard so I can lay it on top of the wine bottles in the recycling box in the hope that the bin men might consider our household relatively normal.
